From the Voice of the Pastor By Rev. Samson
Good morning and hope it is well with us. Here is todays voice.
Theme, ” *convince others to join in God’s greater plan for Salvation”*
Text:
Numbers 10:29-32
[29]Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place about which the Lord said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the Lord has promised good things to Israel.”
[30]He answered, “No, I will not go; I am going back to my own land and my own people.”
[31]But Moses said, “Please do not leave us. You know where we should camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes.
[32]If you come with us, we will share with you whatever good things the Lord gives us.”
Moses as a Spiritual leader demonstrates to us very interesting leadership and Spiritual leadership skills
His father in laws son Hobab had refused to go with Moses. He was a midianite while Moses was an Israelite. People are not secure with strange people and ideas, the first response would be NO. Moses was interested that this midianite should be included to get the blessing of the Hebrew God, this is what Global evangelism is all about. Jesus did the same in John 4. A Samaritan woman is being convinced to accept Jesus, the giver of the true living water that gives eternal life. Here are a few nuggets for us today;
1. God’s blessings are for all. Do not enjoy this blessing alone. Share with others the good news about Jesus beginning from your household, then neighbors and beyond. Are you willing to convince some one join your Church for salvation?
2. Serving others brings blessings. Moses invites Hobab to serve them by offering guidance. Can you be an eye to some one else to reach their destination? If you do God shall bless you, who knows, you are in this position to be a destiny changer for someone else
3. Team work and collaboration. You can’t get there alone. Although Moses depended on God, he needed the help of this Midianite. See in others special qualities to support you in Missions. It is not one man’s show. Please encourage team work and collaborate with them. A key leadership principle. In Conclusion, great leaders seek help as they follow God’s plan. Convince others who love their own people , culture, religions, status etc and are not willing to change to know that life is best in Christ. Use your pursuading techniques and have inclusive approach because every one is invited. God reward your efforts in Jesus name. Blessed Sunday.
